The Obagi Blue Peel® is a great way to achieve healthier, younger-looking skin.  The Obagi Blue Peel® is the deepest peel we offer and is great for someone looking for noticeable results.  The peel uses a trichloroacetic acid (TCA) mixed with a special blue base which allows the practitioner better control of the peels penetration. Giving the practitioner the ability to control the depth of the peel as well as the number of layers is the difference with the Obagi Blue Peel®. This allows the practitioner to the ability to customize the peel specifically for your skin type and concerns.  The peel can also be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs.

Unlike some of the other deep cosmetic peels on the market, the Obagi Blue Peel® does not require sedation and is quick and tolerable. The application takes approximately 30 minutes, the time varies depending how many layers the physician decides to apply. After your treatment you will notice your skin has a bluish tint, this typically washes off in about 12 to 24 hours.

The skin should be kept clean and free of makeup for the days or week following the cosmetic procedure, or until skin is completely rejuvenated.

After your skin has healed, the results will be noticeable.  You will see improvement in clarity, texture and tone.  These improvements will continue for the next 4 to 6 weeks, leaving your skin healthier and younger looking.

The recovery period includes a light swelling as well as some peeling within 2 to 3 days of treatment.  The peeling should continue for a few days and should finish by 7 to 10 days.  If you have a lighter peel your healing time will decrease and you should be okay within 3 to 6 days.  The peeling shouldn’t hinder your normal routine, although you may choose to limit some activity.

In order to achieve the desired result the practitioner can tell you how many peels are necessary.  One peel or more may be needed, based on skin tone and texture

As far as maintenance is concerned you will want to use Obagi Nu Derm® System at home. This is a prescription system that will maintain the results of the peel by helping the skin to act younger.  The Obagi Nu Derm® system works wonderfully with the Obagi Blue Peel® to enhance the effects of the peel.
